Stroll down a winding path brimming with centuries-old adobes in the Canyon Road Arts District. This art district, once a residential street, is Santa Fe’s longest rooted art district and has more than 40 galleries. Filled with incredible Santa Fe history, you’ll find classic Santa Fe art from the 20th Century as well as contemporary and modern art.

The city of Santa Fe is teeming with incredible art and has identified a variety of art districts that you will want to take the time to explore. The Downtown Arts & Museum District is one you won’t want to miss. With at least 30 galleries, fascinating museums, Native American pottery and jewelry lining the Plaza, you will lose track of time while you cruise the district. Not quite as robust, the Railyard Arts District is Santa Fe’s newest district.   1. Santa Fe Indian Market

The Santa Fe Indian Market is an annual event. With 95 years of history (and counting), the Santa Fe Indian Market is a collection of the most talented Native American artists. Known as the world’s largest Native American event, the Indian Market is Santa Fe’s largest attended annual event year after year. This year, the market will be held August 19th & 20th. You won’t want to miss it.

 

  1. The Loretto Chapel

The Loretto Chapel is quite a site that will leave you in awe. Dating back to 1878, the Loretto Chapel is home to a magnificent spiral staircase that seems to defy the laws of physics. The staircase has two 360 degree turns with no visible means of support. Built by a mysterious carpenter, legend suggests that this innovative design at the time could have been built by no one other than a Saint.
